A pair of Baton Rouge businessmen paid $875,000 Friday for a former church building on South Harrell’s Ferry Road, where they plan to relocate their company, Task Force LLC.
Rowland Kimbrough and Jack Iverstine bought the 13,150-square-foot building near Millerville Road through K&I Holdings LLC. The seller was identified as New Hope Community Church of Baton Rouge Inc. headed by Raymond Manguno Jr. Hank Saurage and Josh Gwin of Saurage Commercial Real Estate brokered the sale.
The property includes about 8,800 square feet of climate-controlled warehouse space and 4,000 square feet of office space.
Task Force has government contracts to perform lawn maintenance services for the Road Home program in New Orleans. Its offices currently are on South Sherwood Forest Boulevard, just north of Airline Highway.
Kimbrough said Monday that Task Force has about 30 employees in Baton Rouge and outgrew its location, which the company is leasing. The company will own the new office in addition to having more space.
Kimbrough said Task Force will make extensive renovations to the South Harrell’s Ferry site, adding about 3,500 square feet. “Our goal is to move by Oct. 1, but that’s really pushing it,” he said.
