Baton Rouge – At the 2016 Fall Business Meetings in Atlanta, GA, Carmen R. Austin, CCIM, was elected for a second term to the Board of Directors of the CCIM Institute, a leading commercial real estate association and the governing body of one of the largest global commercial real estate networks. The board is comprised of 48 elected directors, appointed officers, and past CCIM Institute presidents. She will be responsible for debating and voting on policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to the CCIM Institute and its membership, education, and technology programs.
Ms. Austin is a graduate of the Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy Class of 2011 and served as the 2010 Louisiana CCIM Chapter President. She also currently serves on the CCIM Institute’s Marketing Committee and as Vice Chair of the Networking Committee and on the CCIM Education Foundation Board of Directors. She has served on the Institute’s National Board of Directors since 2013.
Ms. Austin holds a Master of Business Administration with specializations in both Real Estate Finance and Entrepreneurship from Louisiana State University. During her graduate studies, Carmen participated with the LSU Real Estate Research Institute to gain insight into the latest developments in statistical analysis of factors affecting real estate trends and values. She has extensive experience from her previous position of Regional Director of Leasing for a privately owned REIT and is currently an Associate Broker and Retail Specialist with Saurage Rotenberg Commercial Real Estate, LLC in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
