Article submitted by Bill Jeansonne, Commercial Investment Specialist for Saurage Rotenberg Commercial Real EstateIn a recent article in Commercial Investment  which is a monthly magazine of the CCIM Institute, David Rifkind describes himself as a CEO—Corporate Executive Optimist.

It is extremely important for each of us  to have  a clear understanding where both the national and local markets are heading.  In south Louisiana we have been “lucky”—the recession has been much worse elsewhere.

Mr. Rifkind perceives “emerging signs of a new cycle”—those signs center on: Liquidity, Transactions and Recapitalization.

On a national perspective he sees Liquidity is returning to the market.  Transaction volume is expected to show a “meaningful” increase in the next year.  Finally, the impact of a huge amount of maturing real estate debt between 2011 and 2015 is expected to impact the market.  A sizable amount of capital –from commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS), banks, and life insurance companies— currently on the sidelines is expected to be very active in coming months.

Personally, count me in as anOptimist.  To read this article in its entirety click HERE.
