Renal Associates of Baton Rouge has purchased a 12,700-square-foot building on East Airport Avenue, near Independence Community Park, for a new surgery center.

The company paid $3.1 million, or approximately $240 per square feet, for the site. The buyer is PIC-VAC Building Partners, a limited liability company co-managed by Drs. Robert P. Landry and Michael W. Roppolo of Renal Associates. ALF Properties LLC, owned by Dr. Arnold Feldman, is the seller.

Renal Associates, which has clinics in Baton Rouge, Zachary, Gonzales, and Walker, could not be reached for comment this morning. But Steve Legendre, partner and managing director of Sperry Van Ness | Graham, Langlois & Legendre, who represented the company in the deal, confirms the site will be used as a surgery center. The deal also included some medical equipment, he adds.

“It was an existing surgery center that really fit their requirements,” Legendre says. “It really was not anything they were looking for. It just happened to be on the market and filled a need for them.”
