The business world and certainly the world of commercial real estate are always moving targets.  In the November 2013 of Commercial Investment Real Estate Magazine, published by the CCIM Institute, William Hughes’ article, “A Stronger Asset,” states “The current economic landscape has assembled an array of factors to structurally change real estate investment standards.”  He outlines a number of factors “intertwining” US and global economies as well as an “increased access to a variety of capital sources.”

Changing factors discussed in his article include:  Cap Rate Movement; increased importance of secondary and tertiary metros, such as south Louisiana; and rising interest rates.  Each of these factors is of noteworthy importance to all real estate investors.
