The Hilton Capitol Center hotel…The Indigo…Hampton Inn… Holiday Inn Express (under construction)…
Ten years ago, staying in a downtown Baton Rouge hotel was a somewhat formidable challenge. Today, Baton Rouge is close to having 1,000+ rooms available, always a key goal in the on-going-development of downtown Baton Rouge. Hotels are a major revenue generator for any community attracting conventions, business, tourism etc.
In addition to the above, there is the up-coming 147 room Courtyard Marriott and local developer Mike Wampold is still planning the re-development of the old state office building at 150 N. Third St.
As the accompanying article will attest to, the hotel industry is booming nationally and Baton Rouge is definitely part of that growth.
