We have been enjoying historic lows in interest rates for a comfortable period of time. Even so we were hampered by the lack of availability of financing because banks and other financial institutions were reticent to aggressively “re-enter” the lending arena. But they are now pursuing loans, so we need to look for when interest rates will change, and go north. We need to continue to garner as many commitments as we can until that time comes.

INTEREST rates will eventually rise in the developed world, perhaps in early 2015. The markets are braced for such a possibility. But the more difficult question is how far they will rise: what is the normal level of rates in the post-crisis world?
