After years, dozens of revisions drafts and neighborhood meetings, the New Orleans’ City Planning Commission released the latest draft of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance Wednesday (July 23).
The new zoning ordinance is designed to govern real estate development across the city.
The planning commission has scheduled public hearings on the latest draft for Aug. 26 and Sept. 9.
The council of course has to approve a final zoning ordinance for it to join the master plan as a rule of law. Once the zoning ordinance is finally adopted, it joins the City’s Master Plan as the ultimate blueprint to guide future development throughout the entire city.
