There is an expectation of a sustained momentum in both the economic and real estate market recovery in secondary markets. This is the theme of the Commercial Investment Real Estate magazine of the CCIM Institute March/April article “Surf’s Up!” by Beth Mattson-Teig.
Investment strategists pursue either Stability or Value-Add properties; both strategies have identified attractive properties in our South Louisiana secondary market. Local media abound with reports of sizable real estate transactions which substantiate this activity.
Many in the real estate industry – myself included – believe the impact of higher interest rates will indeed be offset by improved investment performance represented by rising rents and occupancies.

Bill Jeansonne, a native of Alexandria, Louisiana, received both his undergraduate degree and master’s in business administration (MBA) from Louisiana State University (LSU).
